5 Things I learned Today

At Saint Dominic, we use a gaggle.net and Edline combo. What I learned today is a happy marriage of both. I have a pretty good handle of how I can use my newly-created blog site for my classes. What I need to do is just tinker with the site's features a little more. I was looking forward to podcasting, though. That's a bit of a letdown for me. Plus, this heat...Whew!

Podcast

Podcast is today's version of yesteryear's broadcast. Access is not limited to traditional media i.e., TV and radio. This is where today's gadgets come into play. Now, I am not too familiar with this, really, which is why I am happy I'm here. My main objective? Learn how to podcast and how I can use it in class. Sounds great!

PARSE Institute

I am on Day 2 of the Practical Application of Research on Science Education (PARSE) Institute at Saint Peter's College in Jersey City. Needless to say, I am very excited. Tomorrow, we shall be visiting the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory. For the next two weeks, I will be part of an ongoing Ecology research project at the Liberty State Park. I am currently on a technology session on blogs and podcasts and am sharing this from my blog page...if that's what you call it. Here goes...am hitting publish post and will check if it lands on FB...
